"Art is not the fulfillment of an existing need, but the creation of a new need ..." (Louis Caen)

IFF–INTERNATIONAL FRINGE FESTIVAL: The International Fringe Festival Beer Sheva is a multi-disciplinary festival that crosses audiences and ages, which constitutes a qualitative stage for the best Israeli and international artists from the fields of theater, dance, music, street art, and the plastic arts.

The festival, which will have been held for eight years in the Old City of Be'er Sheva, is considered one of the major fringe events in Israel and one of the largest and leading cultural festivals in the South. Last year, the festival was accepted to the EFFE (European Festival Association) and received a commendation as an extraordinary festival. Every year, the festival earns a reputation as a prestigious, world-renowned event.

This year, more than 20 performances from Israel and abroad will be hosted and more than 150 artists will participate in three days of colorful and exciting artistic activity. The artistic program presents a unique line of original, critical, and diverse works, combining original productions created for the festival, children's shows, and a selection of international shows that provide a fascinating and contemporary picture of independent art.

During the festival, viewers will enjoy an international experience with dance combining multimedia from PortugalRomanian movement theater, modern pantomime from the Czech Republic, virtuoso dance from Lithuania, an acrobatance show from Austria, and a unique video project filmed in Be'er Sheva by artist Philippe Jammet from France.

As part of extensive cooperation with the British Council in Israel, the festival will host the SHOW-UK project, where all the artistic content of the third day will be devoted to the British Culture Festival. The project will include artists from the UK, collaborations between British and Israeli artists, and Israeli Fringe shows about British culture, giving an Israeli perspective on British culture.

In addition, the street will be decorated as an English flea market and will provide a colorful and unforgettable cultural experience for the whole family.
